Kelvin Harrison Jr. is set to play the iconic American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in a new project called Samo Lives.
Samo Lives is set to be directed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) and will explore the life and career of the legendary New York artist.
“Part of my becoming aware of Jean-Michel was through Julian Schnabel’s film from 1996,” Onah said.
Bringing people together with his work (across race, class, and culture) is perhaps Jean-Michel Basquiat’s greatest legacy of all.
