Variety brings word that directing duo Ryan and Andy Tohill have been tapped to helm Legendary Entertainment‘s upcoming horror reboot of Tobe Hooper’s iconic 1974 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with Chris Thomas Devlin attached to write the screenplay.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot will be produced by Fede Alvarez, who is known for directing Don’t Breathe and 2013’s Evil Dead, along with Rodolfo Sayagues through Bad Hombre banner.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre franchise centers around Leatherface and his backwoods family, who terrorize innocent visitors trespassing their lands in the isolated Texas countryside.
The franchise currently has a total of eight films with the most recent entry being the 2017 prequel simply titled Leatherface.
