Flanagan is set to adapt The Midnight Club series alongside Leah Fong, who worked as a writer on The Haunting of Bly Manor, the follow-up to the 41-year-old writer/director’s adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s novel The Haunting of Hill House.
Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan took to Twitter to reveal that production on Netflix’s upcoming series adaptation of Christopher Pike’s horror novel The Midnight Club has officially begun.
The series is one of the two upcoming horror projects that Flanagan has currently set up with the streamer, following the popular limited dramas The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor.
Joining Heather Langenkamp in The Midnight Club are Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, and Sauriyan Sapkota, who will all portray “the titular club of terminally ill young adults.”
