Set to be directed by Tate Taylor (The Help, The Girl on the Train), the film will center around the real-life story of Trisha Mitchell Coburn.
According to Deadline, Amblin Partners is in the process of developing a new biographical drama film titled Miss Macy with three-time Emmy winner Jean Smart attached to lead.
It will be produced by Tate Taylor, Denise Di Novi, and Margaret French Isaac with Smart, Mitchell Coburn, John Norris, and Angeliki Giannakopoulos serving as executive producers.
She will next be seen in HBO Max’s Superintelligence opposite Melissa McCarthy; and HBO’s forthcoming limited series Mare of Easttown starring alongside Kate Winslet and Evan Peters.
