According to Deadline, Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab has signed on to direct Disney+’s highly-anticipated MCU series Moon Knight, which will be written by a team led by The Umbrella Academy co-creator Jeremy Slater.
This marks the iconic superheroes’ live-action debut who are also expected to be featured in future MCU films.
This project marks Diab’s first major project in America after being known for his directorial works in acclaimed Egyptian films such as 2010’s political thriller Cairo 678 and 2016’s drama film Clash.
The Moon Knight series, which is being written and developed by The Umbrella Academy‘s Jeremy Slater, was officially announced by Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige last year along with two other MCU shows for Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk.
