Cronenberg’s debut feature, Antiviral, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won a number of awards, including Best Canadian First Feature film at the Toronto International Film Festival and Best New Director at Sitges Film Festival.
After scoring rave reviews at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, NEON has acquired the U.S. rights to Brandon Cronenberg (Antiviral)’s latest sci-fi thriller Possessor which stars Andrea Riseborough (The Grudge) and Christopher Abbott (Catch-22).
Neon, who have been distributing films for 3 years, have become well-known for their work distributing genre fare including The Beach Bum, Little Monsters, Colossal, Assassination Nation and Parasite, which won four statues at this year’s Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film.
