The Hollywood Reporter has brought word that after a decade of tarnishing in developmental hell, the romantic comedy Desperados has finally hit the ground running with the casting additions of Saturday Night Live vet Nasim Pedrad, The Flash‘s Robbie Amell, Pitch Perfect‘s Anna Camp and The Chi‘s Jason Mitchell.
Amell got his start with a small role in the poorly received 2005 family comedy Cheaper by the Dozen 2 before starring in the Nickelodeon teen sitcom True Jackson, VP and the Cartoon Network live-action adaptation of Scooby-Doo as Fred Jones.
But Netflix has swooped in to save the day and has found an all-star cast and has attracted Funny or Die director Lauren Palmigiano, professionally known as LP, and is expected to begin shooting in April.
The film, written by Ellen Rapoport, follows a woman that finds a man she falls head over heels for after sleeping with but when he doesn’t return one of her phone calls, she sends him an angry and ranting email.
