Bruce Wayne also returns in animated LEGO form next year in The LEGO Batman Movie, with Will Arnett reprising his voice role as LEGO Batman from The LEGO Movie and the actor’s Arrested Development costar, Michael Cera, stepping in to provide the voice for LEGO Dick Grayson/Robin.
The trailers for The LEGO Batman Movie – written by Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and directed by Chris McKay (the animation supervisor for The LEGO Movie) – have confirmed that the movie revolves around Batman’s efforts to give up his lone crime-fighter act, at the behest of his loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth (Ralph Fiennes), and become more of a “team player”.
Batman will return to theaters in 2017 – and not just in director Zack Snyder’s live-action Justice League either, with Ben Affleck once agin playing the Caped Crusader.
That means Batman must not only learn to be a mentor and father to his adopted son, Dick Grayson, but also work with new Gotham City Police Commissioner, Barbara Gordon (Rosario Dawson).
