The U.S. has brought charges against North Korean computer programmer Park Jin Hyok for his work on the 2014 Sony Pictures hack, as well as numerous other hacks involving world banks.
Officials say that Park Jin Hyok is accused of being part of a conspiracy to hack on behalf of North Korea’s Reconnaissance General Bureau.
The U.S. government also believes that North Korea will continue to conduct cyber-attacks, even after these latest charges.
The complaint against Park Jin Hyok is 179 pages long, with Assistant Attorney General John Demers calling the cyber-attack “staggering” in scope.
