With the declining interest in the Transformers movie series, Paramount is going to need to regroup and perhaps see how Bumblebee does before planning any more installments.
Paramount’s Transformers series is in the process of giving itself a major rebrand, and on Wednesday the studio announced that the untitled Transformers 7, which would have hit theaters following the upcoming Bumblebee, has been cut from their release schedule entirely following a schedule shakeup.
Transformers 7, which was originally scheduled for June 28, 2019, has been pulled, perhaps indefinitely, as Paramount reshuffles their release dates for the next couple of years.
According to The Hollywood Reporter’s roundup, Transformers 7’s axed release was “expected,” as the franchise is “gearing up for a makeover.”
