Stellan Skarsgård (River, Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Emily Watson (The Dresser, The Theory of Everything) have been cast in the miniseries Chernobyl, a co-production between HBO and Sky.
Watson will be Soviet nuclear physicist Ulana Khomyuk, dedicated to understanding the cause of the man-made disaster to ensure it never happens again.
The two veteran actors will be co-starring with Jared Harris (The Crown, Mad Men) in the five-part miniseries about the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion on April 26, 1986.
The miniseries is produced by Sister Pictures and the Mighty Mint under the HBO and Sky co-production banner.
