Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher and Chris Messina (Argo, The Sinner, Birds of Prey) have joined the horror film The Boogeyman, 20th Century Studios’ adaptation of the short story written by Stephen King, according to Deadline.
The film adaptation was first announced in 2018, with A Quiet Place scribes Scott Beck and Bryan Woods attached to the horror film.
The project is now being written by Black Swan’s Mark Heyman, based on the original drafts co-written by Beck, Woods, and Akela Cooper.
The short story was later released in 1978 as part of King’s Night Shift collection.
