Film studio The Weinstein Company officially declares bankruptcy and releases all of its employees from their non-disclosure agreements. The group’s woes began after a series of sexual allegations against then president Harvey Weinstein were reported last year.
In the last several months, The Weinstein Company has been attempting to shop the business around with a few investors expressing interest.
The Company expressly releases any confidentiality provision to the extent it has prevented individuals who suffered or witnessed any form of sexual misconduct by Harvey Weinstein from telling their stories.
The bankruptcy news had been going around for months now and the declaration has been a long time coming, but the more interesting part of the statement is the announcement that The Weinstein Company is releasing all its employees from their non-disclosure agreements.
