Netflix has ordered the multi-generational, multi-camera comedy series Family Reunion with Tia Mowry (Sister, Sister, Instant Mom) and Loretta Devine (Grey’s Anatomy, The Carmichael Show) starring in the lead roles, Deadline has confirmed.
The African American family sitcom, which is penned entirely by black writers, stars Mowry as Cocoa McKellan, a free-spirited, fun, conscious mother from Seattle.
Production on Family Reunion began recently in Los Angeles.
Alabi will play Mowry’s husband, with Jackson playing 14-year-old Jade, Russell-Bailey as 12-year-old Shaka, Wright as 10-year-old Mazzi, and James as 8-year-old Ami.
