Warner Bros. has officially begun their For Your Consideration Oscars campaign for Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot.
The Oscars have 24 total categories, and the studio plans on submitting Wonder Woman for 15 of the film’s 16 “eligible” categories, including Best Cinematography, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Picture. The only “eligible” category the movie isn’t being submitted for is Best Actor, and that’s because Wonder Woman doesn’t have a lead actor; Chris Pine was a supporting actor.
There’s no denying the impact Wonder Woman had not only on the filmmaking industry but on society in general.
Warner Bros. has launched their For Your Consideration Oscars campaign page, which lists the movies – Blade Runner 2049, Dunkirk, The LEGO Batman Movie, and Wonder Woman – they plan on submitting for the 90th Academy Awards in 2018.
