The mood – and red carpet – at this year’s Oscars has been the subject of speculation for months.
The Academy, which declined to comment, has said the focus of this year’s 90th anniversary Oscars is the films.
Melissa Silverstein, founder of the campaign group Women and Hollywood, thinks the mood has “gone beyond black on the red carpet.
Since the Time’s Up blackout “launch” at this year’s Golden Globe awards, subsequent red carpets have been explicitly choreographed.
